CODE OF ETHICS
The ownership and management of Real Estate is a free enterprise. The members of the Ashtabula County Real Estate Investors Association, Inc. treat this with the utmost professionalism.
The AREIA member is civic-minded and operates to the highest standards. It should recognize that the interests of the community require the highest and best use of the land and its buildings. The AREIA member recognizes the need for adequate housing and the preservation of a healthful environment. Thus the members share a common responsibility to maintain and improve housing. The letters, A.R.E.I.A., will be synonymous with competency, fairness and integrity.
Accepting these standards, every A.R.E.I.A. member pledges to conduct his business in accordance to the articles set below:
I. The member should keep themselves informed on matters affecting housing in their community.
II. The member shall keep informed regarding local, state and federal laws.
III. The member shall not discriminate against any person for reasons of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status or handicap.
IV. The member will recognize that residents are our customers and we are in a service industry.
V. The member has an obligation to treat fairly and seek no unfair advantage over other members of the Association.
VI. The member will not perform or cause to be performed any act which would tend to reflect on or bring into disrepute any part of the Rental Property Industry.
VII. The member will not cheat, wrong or defraud any other member, owner or resident.
VIII. The member shall constantly seek to be informed on matters affecting Rental Property in their community, state, and nation, so that he may be able to contribute responsibly to public thinking on such manners.
LIMITATIONS: Becoming a member shall not constitute other members of the Association as partners for any purpose. No member, officer, agent or employee of this Association shall be liable for the acts or failure to act on the part of any other member, officer, agent or employee of the Association. Nor shall any member, officer, agent or employee be liable for his acts or failure to act under these Code of Ethics excepting only acts or omissions to act arising out of their will full misfeasance or malfeasance.
